Kalmadhava Shakti Peeth Amarkantak Madhya Pradesh – 51 Shakti Peethas

Kalmadhava Shakti Peeth is one among 51 Shakti Peethas located in Amarkantak, Madhya Pradesh. It is one of the ancient temples in India boasting about 6000 years ago, it was first founded by Suryavanshi Samarat Mandhata. It is built with white rocks and you find ponds and kund which brings the temple charming look.

Significance:

  1. According to the mythology Daksha yagna and Sati self-immolation, it is the holy place where “Left buttock” fell down.
  2. It is also believed that the goddess fulfills all the desires of her devotees.

During the festive season of Navratri, all 9 days are being celebrated with devotion and special rituals are carried out all 9 days. Goddess Sati is being worshipped with the name “Kali” and Bhairav as “Asitang”. During the occasion of Shivratri, devotes people keep fasting the whole day and offer Milk and perform Abhishekam to Shiv Ling.

When it comes to accommodation there are dharmasalas a guest house for devotees which are free to reside, these guesthouses are run by non-profit organizations and few devotees in devotion to goddess Kalmadhava. There are also paid hotels and room services ranging from 500 per day.

There are few nature attractions like Dudh Dhara waterfalls and also devotional places nearby. Some of them are Sonakshi Shaktipeeth Temple, Shri Jwaleshwar Mahadev, Sonemuda, Kabir Chabutra, Kapil Dhara, Shri Sarvodaya Digamber Jain Temple, etc.

Transport facilities to Kalmadhava Shakti Peeth:

Road: There are several deluxe buses running towards Amarkantak from Bilaspur, Jabalpur, Shadol, etc. Also, you find local Auto’s and state-run buses are common modes of transport.

Rail: Although we don’t find many trains from major cities of India, you have a few trains from Patna. The nearest railway station is Pendra station

Air: Jabalpur and Raipur airports are the nearest airports for domestic flights. If you are looking for International flights then Delhi and Kolkata are nearest airports.
